The National Steering Committee (NSC) of the ROOTS Project, on Monday 22nd August 2022, embarked on a six-day field visit to project implementation sites.
The objective of the mission was to get first-hand information and see the progress of implementation in the various sites.
The Team comprised of senior government officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Local Government and Lands, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Welfare, Ministry of Youths and Sports, Department of Agriculture, NACOFAG and Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The head of mission was the Deputy Permanent Secretary Projects and Programs at the Ministry of Agriculture.
The team visited RPSF intervention sites, Cold Storage Facilities, Vegetable Gardens under completion, Gender Action Learning System and Literacy & Numeracy training communities, Regional Governors, Regional Agriculture, Directorates and ROOTS Regional Offices.
The mandate of the NSC is oversight for better project implementation. Therefore, it is important to visit Project sites and engage the beneficiaries to get first-hand information on implementation progress.”
