GENDER ACTION LEARNING SYSTEM – NATIONAL LEARNING EXCHANGE
The Gender Action Learning Systems (GALS) and Literacy and Numeracy Training were implemented in three regions LRR, WCR, NBR.
The purpose of this training is to encourage participant sharing of best practices and peer-to-peer learning.
This is also a tool for tracking the project’s social outcomes at community and household levels.
NAWFA was the implementing partner for Literacy and Numeracy Training whilst WARF, which developed the gender and youth inclusion and targeting strategy for the project led the rollout of the GALS.
The GALS pilot has been successful because the project carried out a monitoring field expedition on the pilot communities and homes where beneficiaries showed great enthusiasm in using the tools, as well as that of their family members (husbands and kids), and documented behavioral changes toward social inclusion and cohesion among household members.
This will help ROOTS in reviewing the project’s action plan and in the implementation by providing better information.
Experience met here will help them manage the outcomes of their products.
