Welcome Remarks

I have the pleasure to welcome you to the ROOTS Project website.  The website is intended to provide up to date information about what ROOTS is all about, how it is designed and implemented, what are the successes and challenges, and most importantly how can beneficiaries access support in line with the Project design and objectives.

ROOTS was launched on 09 February 2021 by His Excellency President Adama Barrow, which underscores the national significance of the Project. Our development objective is fully aligned with the national goals of the country, specifically the National Development Plan (NDP), Gambia National Agricultural Investment Plan (GNAIP), and The Gambia National Climate Change Policy (2016 – 2025). ROOTS aims to increase agricultural productivity and access to markets for enhanced food security and nutrition, and resilience of family farms and farmer organizations At international level, ROOTS is in line with the African Union’s Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP), as well as the Agenda 2063 and 2030 Sustainable Development Goals

We hope you find the website not only useful for your requirements, but also user friendly. We also look forward to your feedback as to how the website can be improved.
